HISTORY OF BALOGO HIGH SCHOOL
Balogo, Oas, Albay
The Balogo High School, also known as the former extension of Polangui General Comprehensive High School (PGCHS), was opened up and started its operation through the initiative of the retired Schools Division Superintendent, Mrs. Aurora R. Encisa. It was temporarily housed at the Balogo West Elementary School under the supervision of the late principal Mrs. Porfiria Remonte. Then in 1978, the school was administered by the late Mr. Celso Requintina.
The school site which is precisely 11,383 square meters was donated by the philanthropist Don Jose Madarieta of Ligao, Albay. It covers two parcels of land, Lot No. 441-A Oas Cadastre, situated at Barangay Balogo, Oas, Albay and Lot No. 8602 Polangui Cadastre, situated at Barangay Balinad, Polangui, Albay.
The nationalization or separation of Balogo High School from PGCHS was approved on May 5, 2006 under the leadership of Miss Imelda R. Reamico, the Officer-in-Charge of the school. The site is under the Government Permit No. 0012 s. 2006 which allowed the formal operation of Balogo High School as independent school. In December 1, 2006, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) approved the transfer of nineteen positions from PGCHS to Balogo High School.
